Windfields Neighbourhood

The Windfields Neighbourhood is found within the York Mills Neighbourhood, boundaries are Leslie Street to the East and south of Hwy 401 to north of Lawrence Avenue and midway to Bayview Avenue to the West. Windfields includes a maze of streets that weave through the area until they end either in a ravine or park, or access a main arterial road. Originally E.P. Taylor's Windfields Farm, an estate that was subdivided for housing 1968, and thirty acres of his farm was donated to become Windfields Park. E.P. Taylor's mansion was donated to the Canadian Centre for Advanced Film Studies which fronts onto Bayview Avenue. Windfields Farm was famous as one of the top thoroughbred racing stables in North America with Northern Dancer being the first Canadian horse to win the Kentucky Derby. More...
